Superbikes will be flying around Brainerd International Raceway’s 2.5-mile Competition Road Course this weekend while drivers in the Bracket Drag Racing Series will be exchanging punches on the drag strip in the fourth of six weekend events.
The Central Roadracing Association brings its incredible brand of Superbike racing to BIR again this weekend during the third of five weekend racing weekends. There’s nothing more amazing than watching these skilled riders fly around the corners while dragging their inside knee on the pavement. It’s thrilling road racing that is typical of what you’ll find at BIR.
Saturday’s Superbike racing includes a three-hour team challenge event that starts at 3 p.m. The rest of the weekend includes practice sessions on Friday, practice and 8-lap racing on Saturday prior to the three-hour race, and then 8-lap races on Sunday.
On the drag strip, Saturday and Sunday both feature time trials and eliminations, with class winners crowned at the end of each day. More than 250 dragsters, cars, trucks, bikes, snowmobiles and Junior Dragsters are expected to compete in seven classes plus three Junior Dragster classes. It’s some of the best amateur drag racing you’ll see anywhere in the Upper Midwest.
Daily admission is $20 for adults. Kids 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the front gate. Camping is free with a multi-day ticket.
