Raw power, sheer speed For race fans throughout the Midwest, the only place to be in mid-August is BIR for the 27th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, which is officially scheduled for August 7-10, 2008. Get it on your calendar today! The NHRA Nationals is a collection of the biggest names in drag racing, including John Force, Brandon Bernstein, Tony Schumacher, Tony Pedregon, Larry Dixon, Andrew Hines, Antron Brown and Minnesota’s own Jason Line, Greg Anderson and Warren Johnson. It’s the grand daddy of motorsports in Minnesota, where speeds exceed 330 mph and cars crank out 6,000 horsepower, as they shake the stands while screaming toward the finish line. It’s an assault on your senses; you won’t find anything like it in the world. Every ticket includes a pit pass, where fans get access to drivers for autographs and can stand within feet of the race crews as they disassemble and re-assemble race cars. There’s also a vendor midway, with dozens of companies selling racing products, services and merchandise. The pro pits and the midway have been expanded for better fan access. For many fans, the highlight of the event is the camping experience. It’s like none other in the country, and it’s what makes BIR special and unique among the 21 racetracks that host an NHRA Nationals event. Family camping is available, where noise limits are strictly enforced. NHRA National Tickets are now available only at the gate. |
