NHRA Division 5 racers gear up for Brainerd International Raceway
Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars will take center stage May 23-25 as the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series makes its annual stop at Brainerd International Raceway.
Fans have a chance to see Top Alcohol cars run at 280 mph as the top racers from the NHRA’s West Central Division compete on BIR’s quarter-mile drag strip as they vie for valuable points leading to divisional and national championships. Consider this a tune-up for the annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals in August.
The Division 5 Points Race always provides entertaining drag racing, where some of the best Top Alcohol pilots in the country compete each year. This race typically attracts racers like Randy Meyer, Cy Chesterman, Vern Moats and Ed Schmeekle. It will also feature some of the division’s top Sportsman racers.
