If speed is your thing then you need to get behind the wheel at BIR. In addition to offering great spectator motorsports, BIR also has a variety of events that allows you to give up your seat in the grandstands and take over the wheel on the race track. BIR Performance Driving School
Spend a day at the track learning how to handle your car at high speeds. Learn from professional racers who will teach you how to get around the track quickly and safely. Use your car or one of the school’s Spec Racer Fords.
Wednesday Night Drags – Street Legal Style
All you need is a street legal car, truck or bike, a helmet and $25. That allows you to run BIR’s world-class drag strip as many times as you want, time permitting.
Bracket Drag Racing Series
With six weekends on the schedule this year, anyone can compete in our Bracket Drag Racing Series. We have race classes for street-legal cars, trucks and bikes, as well as dragsters, snowmobiles and Junior Dragsters. It’s competitive AND a lot of fun.
Muscle Car Series
The three-race Muscle Car Series has a range of drag racing classes, from 6-second Pro Outlaw cars to street-legal cars that you can drive to work. There are classes for all driving levels.
Sports Car Club of America – Harvey West Classic & Jack Pine Sprints
The Sports Car Club of America offers competitive amateur road racing and will be at BIR two weekends this year for the Harvey West Classic on Memorial Day weekend and the Jack Pine Sprints on Labor Day weekend. For those who want to race but don’t have a racing license, BIR is hosting an SCCA Competition Racing License School May 21-23 that’s open to the public.
Central Roadracing Association (CRA)
The CRA has five weekends on the schedule this year. They offer instruction and competitive racing for motorcycle riders. It’s open to novices as well as highly skilled Superbike racers.
International Watercross Association (IWA)
Drag and oval snowmobile racing on open water!
ChumpCar World Series
ChumpCar racing is a ton of fun for those who compete. Teams must include at least four drivers who alternate driving in 7-hour endurance races. A short school is required the weekend of the race.
MAP Proving Grounds
The Modern Automotive Performance Proving Grounds will be at BIR two weekends this season and is open to anyone who drives import or sport compacts. The weekends include drag racing, drifting, autocross, open lapping, a car show and more.
World Racing League
If endurance racing is your thing, than look to BIR May 2-3 when the World Racing League will be here for the Intercomp Speed Festival, a 9-hour enduro followed by a 7-hour race, both on BIR’s 2.5-mile Competition Road Course.
Powercruise is open to anyone who wants to try their hand at cruising, drag racing, burnout contests, and much more.
Zaluski Advanced Rider School (ZARS)
Zalusky Advanced Riding School and Track Days provides motorcycle riders with opportunities for advanced rider training on a road course with instruction as well as open track days at Midwest racetracks. Riders of all skils levels are welcome as well as all bike types!
Porsche Club of America PCA Nord Stern Region
Membership in Nord Stern will allow you to participate in fun events such as Driver Training and Education, Autocross, and even Club Racing. You can show your beautiful Porsche and look at others at the annual All Porsche Show. Enjoy countryside drives with Rally and Touring events. Social get togethers with like minded enthusiasts are on the top of the list for many.

Audi Club Glacier Lakes
Founded in 1984, the Glacier Lakes Chapter was the home of Frank Beddor and is the charter member of the Audi Club of North America; today comprised of over 250 members in Minnesota and North Dakota. The annual driving school and lapping events are held at Brainerd International Raceway and our popular Teen Driving Clinics take place at Dakota County Technical College.
North Star BMW
Minnesota’s chapter of the BMW Car Club of America
Suburban Corvettes of Minnesota will have two Driver School and Lapping Days at Brainerd International Raceway in 2014. These driver schools will provide you with the opportunity to develop your driving skills in the controlled environment of a closed circuit and then they can be used for normal street driving, autocrossing or racing. It’s also a chance for the experienced racer to get lots of track time.
