If speed is your thing then you need to get behind the wheel at BIR. In addition to offering great spectator motorsports, BIR also has a variety of events that allows you to give up your seat in the grandstands and take over the wheel on the race track. BIR Performance Driving School
Spend a day at the track learning how to handle your car at high speeds. Learn from professional racers who will teach you how to get around the track quickly and safely. Use your car or one of the school’s Spec Racer Fords.
Wednesday Night Drags – Street Legal Style
All you need is a street legal car, truck or bike, a helmet and $25. That allows you to run BIR’s world-class drag strip as many times as you want, time permitting.
Bracket Drag Racing Series
With six weekends on the schedule this year, anyone can compete in our Bracket Drag Racing Series. We have race classes for street-legal cars, trucks and bikes, as well as dragsters, snowmobiles and Junior Dragsters. It’s competitive AND a lot of fun.
Sports Car Club of America – Harvey West Classic & Jack Pine Sprints
The Sports Car Club of America offers competitive amateur road racing and will be at BIR two weekends this year for the Harvey West Classic on Memorial Day weekend and the Jack Pine Sprints on Labor Day weekend. For those who want to race but don’t have a racing license, BIR is hosting an SCCA Competition Racing License School May 22-24 that’s open to the public.
Muscle Car Series
The three-race Muscle Car Series has a range of drag racing classes, from 6-second Outlaw cars to street-legal cars that you can drive to work. There are classes for all driving levels.
Central Roadracing Association
The CRA has five weekends on the schedule this year. They offer instruction and competitive racing for motorcycle riders. It’s open to novices as well as highly skilled Superbike racers.
ChumpCar World Series
ChumpCar racing is a ton of fun for those who compete. Teams must include at least four drivers who alternate driving in 7-hour endurance races. A short school is required the weekend of the race.
MAP Proving Grounds
The Modern Automotive Performance Proving Grounds will be at BIR two weekends this season and is open to anyone who drives import or sport compacts. The weekends include drag racing, drifting, autocross, open lapping, a car show and more.
Powercruise is open to anyone who wants to try their hand at cruising, drag racing, burnout contests, and much more.
