The Modern Automotive Performance Proving Grounds is coming to BIR this weekend, featuring imports, sport compacts and bikes that will compete in drag racing, drifting, autocross, burnout contests, open lapping, a car show and more! It’ll be crazy, turbo-charged weekend.
Three Junior Dragster racers took home Wally trophies Saturday after the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League Challenge, which was part of the Bracket Drag Racing Series. Sunday’s racing was rained out, as was the annual Summit Racing King of the Track competition, which will be rescheduled.
BIR has a triple-header this weekend, featuring a trio of crazy racing action, starting with IWA Watercross racing where snowmobiles race on open water. The Simply Street Bikes has a stunt bike competition, and the CRA brings Superbike racing to BIR’s Donnybrooke Road Course.
The Bracket Drag Racing Series continues this weekend, with the Summit King of the Track crown on the line Sunday and three Wally trophies for the winners of the NHRA Summit Racing Junior Drag Racing League Challenge on Saturday.
Thunder at the Lakes didn’t disappoint race fans last weekend as some of the top Sportsman drag racers slugged it out on the drag strip for Wally trophies and divisional points. The Competition Road Course was busy as well with three different events.
The 5th Annual Street Car Showdown came to an end Memorial Day weekend with some huge numbers on the drag strip. Bill Krech won the Pro Outlaw Class after posting the top speed (214.66 mph) and the low time (6.449 seconds).
NASCAR K&N Pro Series race ends with a repeat win for Michael Self who finished on a flat tire less than one second ahead of the second place finisher. The NASCAR race was part of the 5th Annual Street Car Showdown at BIR Memorial Day weekend.
