BIR’s team of 40 drag racers placed third last weekend in the NHRA West Central Summit Racing ET Finals at Heartland Park in Topeka, Kan. The team was the defending champion. Brandon Schmall won the Sportsman class.

Kevin Sand won three classes last weekend at the 28th Annual GSTA Muscle Car Shootout in what could be a first in the Muscle Car Series’ eight-year history. Gary Olson was one win away of accomplishing the same thing in the series’ grand finale.

The 28th Annual GSTA Muscle Car Shootout will finish off the summer in grand style as the three-race Muscle Car Series concludes, with 13 series championships on the line. On the road course is the SCCA Jack Pine Sprints. Great family entertainment.
Brittany Force, Del Worsham, Drew Skillman and Andrew Hines all ended up in the Winner’s Circle at BIR Sunday after winning their classes during the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, which saw track and world records fall.
The field is set for Sunday’s elimination rounds. Saturday’s final qualifying rounds resulted in a world-record run and a No. 1 qualifier for Matt Hagan. Antron Brown, Vincent Nobile and Angelle Sampey are also No. 1 qualifiers.
Friday’s qualifying sessions ended for the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals at BIR, with two track records falling and fans being treated to some entertaining drag racing as Tony Schmuacher, Del Worsham, Bo Butner and Angelle Sampey were top qualifiers.
This year’s Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals will be broadcast on FOX Sports 1 and 2, and includes three hours of live coverage of Sunday’s elimination rounds. The entire TV schedule is here.
A pair of jet dragsters will entertain race fans this weekend shortly after the end of qualifying Friday and Saturday night. Tony Franco’s jet dragsters fly down the quarter-mile track at 316 mph and under 5 seconds.
