The car that NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt raced in 1989-90 will be at BIR Saturday and will lead the Street Car Cruise at 7 p.m. The cruise is for drag cars racing in the street car classes, they must make four laps around the Donnybrooke Road Course.
Sunday starts out with fans on the track and ends with fans in the Winner’s Circle. In between, you can be guaranteed some amazing drag racing as drivers battle for points on their way to the Countdown to the Championship.
Saturday’s schedule is a full one, starting with Sportsman qualifying, Nitro School and a Mello Yello Autograph Session, and ending with live music and a mind-blowing fireworks display. Oh, and there’s two more rounds of nitro qualifying!
The nitro=burning Funny Cars and Dragsters make their first two qualifying runs Friday afternoon, along with the Pro Stock Motorcycles and Cars. The morning is reserved for the Sportsman classes, which are qualifying. Watch the flames fly!
The 36th Annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals starts on Thursday, Aug. 17 at Brainerd International Raceway. Day One starts with Sportsman qualifying sessions and public autograph sessions with Ron Capps, Tony Schumacher, Tommy Johnson Jr., and Jack Beckman.
